Choosing the right emergency medical insurance plan for international travel
One question we often get as international insurance brokers is “Which is the best emergency medical plan for an international businessperson that is traveling overseas for work once a month or more?”
The answer is: Any one of the good plans offered that are annual, multi-trip travel medical insurance plans.
Annual plans save you time and money by applying only once per year instead of per trip, and cover you regardless of the number of trips taken overseas per year. This is useful when you, your family, or an assistant needs to know who to contact. Many of our business clients renew year-after-year. They are surprisingly affordable, protect your finances, and all include medical evacuation which is critical to protecting your health and your finances. Some include political evacuation at no additional charge, as well as return of mortal remains.
Multi-trip business plans also include special travel perks and emergency and medical assistance services that are valuable when you find yourself in a jam.
Note: Some plans become your primary insurance overseas, while others require U.S. health insurance.
We have multi-trip plans that cover pre-existing conditions if needed (Such as the GeoBlue plan below).
Some have limits to how many days you can be overseas from 30, 45, 70 or 90 days length per trip.
We specifically recommend GeoBlue’s annual emergency health plan
